Brochure design
6 STEPS TO BATHE YOUR CAT
This assignment aimed to design a brochure depicting six steps to achieve a goal using an art style and design tools of my choice. I decided to use Procreate, Photoshop, and Indesign for this project.
For my project, I came up with the thing that I love the most: my cat. I believe that bathing cats is a nightmare for most cat parents. Why I don't create a brochure that helps cat lovers to wash their cats easier? First of all, I listed six important steps:
Step 1: Gather the necessary supplies.
For the process to run smoothly, ensure you have all the necessary supplies. These include the right shampoo, towels, rubber gloves, spray nozzle, and hairdryer.
Step 2: Trim your cat's claws a day before.
If you want to survive the process of bathing your cat, you have to trim its nail.
Step 3: Get the cat wet
You can use the spray nozzle to get water onto your cat. Make sure the temperature is not too cold or too hot. Whatever you do, don't get their head wet. They won't like it one bit.
Step 4: Lather up
Use shampoo to massage from head to tail and underside.
Step 5: Rinse
Using the nozzle again, start rinsing carefully. Make sure you leave no excess shampoo in their fur.
Step 6: Dry them off
Help your cat get rid of the excess water by running your hands down its body. Then, wrap them in a towel and dry them off as best as possible. If your kitty has long fur, you may need to use a hairdryer.
Then, I explored different graphic elements and decided to move forward with the combination of both illustration and an actual photo of my cat. It is a bit more challenging because it's sometimes hard to manipulate your cat in the right pose and position as you want. However, this way encouraged me to be more creative in the layout and perspective.
After taking photos of my cat, I fixed the color and removed the background of my cat photos in Photoshop. Then, I sketched out the steps needed in my process and finished them later in Procreate.
